Bantayan Island,Cebu, Philippines,June 10, 2014 – Young Pioneer Disaster Response delivered $250,000 USD (10,942,499.35 php) worth of medical supplies to Bantayan District Hospital, Santa Fe Health Services and Madridejos Health Services in honor of our 6 month anniversary on June 7, 2014. The goods have were donated by CarePoint Health, of Hudson County, New Jersey, US. The delivery took place at 10am on June 10, 2014 at Bantayan Hospital, as part of a press conference held by YPDR and the Mayor of Bantayan Municipality Ian Christopher Escario to support the work of medical care facilities on Bantayan Island following Typhoon Yolanda.
YPDR has partnered with SAMU Fundacion and conducted joint medical missions all over the island, treating 3,357 patients. This recent donation of medical supplies from CarePoint Health will be a big step forward in health assistance to the people of Bantayan, Santa Fe and Madridejos.
